From 10 to 13 March 2009 the world exhibition for real estate professionals will take place in Cannes.

This year as part of the MIPIM programme it is planned to present world famous architects: Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Thom Mayne, Wolf Prix, Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nashizama will present their views of architectural trends for the future, and discuss the latest ideas in design and urbanism.

One of the particularities of this MIPIM session is the exhibition's special section dedicated to Russian displays, with an area of 2700 square metres on the perimeter of the Cannes marina.

The Director of MIPIM, Nadine Castagna, explains the new organisation of the exhibition space: 'the Russian Federation is one of the main participants in world economic development and for several years has been among the top four participant countries at MIPIM, after Great Britain, France and Germany.  In honour of the twenty year anniversary of MIPIM we are opening a new section at the exhibition, as we did ten years ago for the real estate of London and Paris.'

Amongst major Russian participants this year will be Krasnodar Region (525m2), Moscow Region (415m2) and Minekonomrazvitiya (250m2),  developer companies Yugra Stroi (271m2) and RussianLand (202m2), the Executive Committee of Kazan (198m2), and St Petersburg (166m2).

In 2008 there were 30 000 participants at MIPIM, with 3000 Russian participants and more than 700 companies.  The exhibition area of the Russian displays was situated in 17 halls and totalled 3831m2, or 10% of the total exhibition area.  With the exhibition's new Russian section, which will be located in the Port Side, Harbour 1, 2, 3 and 4 halls, proposals from Russian real estate will be better presented.

'This should make it possible to advance the high-potential Russian market,' says Nadine Castagna.
